The Benchmark Briefing, October 2025, is an open invitation to colleges and universities to help shape the future of distance education benchmarking. Hosted by the International Distance Education Benchmark Project (IDEBP), this live session introduces the project’s purpose, structure, and how institutions can participate as founding members.

As higher education continues to evolve, leaders need better insight into online enrollment, retention, and student outcomes. Existing national data sources like IPEDS provide a foundation — but not the full picture. IDEBP was created to fill that gap by collecting richer, institution-submitted data that captures how distance education truly performs.
